The number of missionaries in India has increased over sixty-seven percent in the last five years, said the country’s Minister of State for Planning, M. V. Rajasekharan. At the same time the Minister said that according to the World Bank’s World Development Indicators 2006, the population living on less than $1USD per day had declined to 34.7 percent in 1999-2000.
