The Roman Catholic Church in Pakistan is calling for the abolition of the country’s blasphemy law, following recent attacks on Christians and Hindus accused of blaspheming the prophet Muhammad. “We hold the government responsible on account of their passivity in repealing the blasphemy law and allowing such incidents to take place at frequent intervals,” the Church’s National Commission for Justice and Peace said in a statement.
