For the first time the Awadhi people of India, numbering over twenty million, will be able to read the Bible in their own heart language. The project, undertaken by translators for the World Bible Translation Center, took thirteen years. Over ten thousand copies of the new translation were distributed at one time with the hope that these initial volumes will be used to strengthen church leaders and lay Christians in this area.
